This practice is designed for adults seeking thoughtful, outpatient psychiatric care in a calm and non-urgent setting.
The work here is intentional and relational, with time and attention devoted to understanding not only symptoms but the broader context of your life, including your experiences, relationships, and direction.
To preserve that focus, the practice is intentionally structured around a clearly defined scope of outpatient care. This allows for steady, meaningful work with patients whose needs are well suited to a reflective outpatient practice.
If, during the course of evaluation or treatment, your care needs are found to extend beyond what this practice is designed to provide, I will work with you to ensure a thoughtful and appropriate transition to a provider or level of care better suited to your needs.
When Another Setting May Be More Appropriate
This practice is intentionally focused on providing safe, thoughtful outpatient psychiatric care. The following situations generally require services or a level of support beyond what is offered here:
Care requiring substance detoxification or structured addiction treatment
Pain management or opioid use
Ongoing use of high-dose benzodiazepine or high-dose stimulant regimens
Active psychotic symptoms or acute safety concerns
Severe or treatment-resistant depression requiring advanced interventions
Unstable bipolar disorder or borderline personality disorder requiring intensive support
Care involving ketamine therapy, TMS, or ECT
Primary dementia assessment or care (such as Alzheimer’s disease)
Forensic, legal, disability, driving or competency evaluations
Crisis intervention, emergency services, or inpatient/intensive psychiatric care
If you believe your current needs fall into one or more of these areas, another practice or level of care may be a better fit from the outset. The introductory process is intended to determine whether this practice appears to be a good fit before treatment begins.
If you become a patient and your needs later evolve beyond what this practice is designed to provide, I will discuss those concerns with you and help facilitate an appropriate transition when indicated.
Practical Considerations
Care is provided via telepsychiatry for patients physically located in California at the time of service.
Practice hours are generally Tuesday through Thursday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Pacific Time.
This is an outpatient practice and does not provide emergency or continuous on-call services.
Routine and priority communications (including messages, prescription refill requests, and treatment questions) are best handled through the secure patient portal (preferred), email, or telephone during practice hours.
Messages are reviewed during practice hours but should never be relied upon for urgent or emergency situations requiring an immediate response.
Patients are expected to maintain access to appropriate emergency and personal support resources as part of safe outpatient care.
If you are experiencing a psychiatric emergency or need immediate assistance, call 911, go to the nearest emergency department, or call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).
